About

The Reading Mental Health Association of Reading & Berks County was founded in 1955 to promote mental health education and wellness, as well as provide the area’s residents with active adult and child advocacy on an individual and system-wide basis.

In January 2011, our name changed to the Greater Reading Mental Health Alliance (GRMHA) because we are an alliance of individuals who come together to make a significant difference in the mental health community.

Our Vision Statement

We envision a Greater Reading and Berks County community in which all people are given dignity, respect and equal access to mental health services. Individual and families are connected with services they need to help them achieve their full potential. People with mental health and substance use concerns do recover, live safely and become healthy, productive citizens.

Our Mission

Greater Reading Mental Health Alliance is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting mental health recovery and wellness for children and adults through advocacy, education and support services.
